Executives at midsize companies gained confidence in the second quarter, with 43 percent expecting to add employees in the next 12 months, according to a survey released today by the National Center for the Middle Market.
That’s up from 38 percent who predicted hiring in the NCMM’s first-quarter survey.
To conduct the quarterly survey, the NCMM, which is funded by GE Capital and housed at Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, polls 1,000 executives at public and private companies across the country.
The survey is an attempt to reflect opinion at the 197,000 U.S. businesses it defines as midsize: those with annual revenue from $10 million to $1 billion.
